The fourth Long Night of Contemporary Dance on December 16th presented select productions by artists from Berlin’s contemporary dance scene that demonstrated the broad conceptual diversity of choreography as dance, performance, installation, video, film and music.<\/p>\n

The program was shaped by artists such as Susanne Linke, Xavier Le Roy, Thomas Lehmen, Martin Nachbar or Angela Schubot\/Two Fish who are known beyond Berlin’s city limits. However, there is also the chance to discover new choreographers: the American Jeremy Wade, who recently relocated to Berlin after receiving the prestigious BESSY AWARD 2006 for choreography in New York. Zufit Simon (Israel), Caroline Picard (France), Raffaella Galdi (Italy) or Anne Retzlaff a.o. demonstrated the exciting potential of Berlin’s up and coming choreographers. The Flying Steps (multiple world champions in Urban Dance – HIP HOP) presented Urban Dance choreography together with other artists from the Berlin dance scene. With the still life performance pieces by Johan Lorbeer and the interactive sound installations of Lynn Pook, we have invited two artists working with choreography within other art genres.<\/p>\n
