Forms of artistic collaboration
Sophiensaele 2007 – 2010

“Forms of Artistic Collaboration” documents the achievements of the artistic work at the Berlin Sophiensaele – the venue for the most advanced theatre work – from 2007 to 2010 under the artistic direction of Heike Albrecht.

The publication, which consists of three issues (“Texte”, “Künstler”, “Bilder”), focuses on the theatre artists who were important during this period, such as Gintersdorfer/Klaßen, Laurent Chétouane, Fabian Hinrichs, David Marton, Isabelle Schad, Club Real, Clemens Schick and many others. Their work is presented in portraits, interviews and descriptions. Essays by Adrienne Goehler and Georg Seeßlen, who deal with artist financing and the place of the documentary, respectively, provide a foundation for the late noughties, and the passionate talent angler Tom Stromberg explains how to fish for a “great pike”.

The publication is complemented by a series of pictures by the Belgian photographer David Bergé, who captures the spatial condition of the apart decaying Sophiensaele for the last time before the upcoming renovation.
